This is aerial footage that the oil industry would prefer remained unseen by the public. I found these leaks on June 26, 2017 in various locations in Louisiana’s coastal wetlands between New Orleans and the Gulf of Mexico, on the east side of the Mississippi River. The leaking oil is a threat to our shrimp, crabs, oysters, fish, birds, insects, mammals and reptiles. It also destroys the vegetation in the marsh which further weakens our protection from hurricanes. Many of the leaks that I find are in remote locations that are only accessible by boat or plane. So it comes as an unwanted surprise to the industry when they are exposed like this. Yesterday’s flight was tough having documented 5 different leaks. As you can see from the video, we had a little extra help. Please share and please subscribe.
